Cyveillance Vice President to Speak at CeBIT’s AusInnovate Conference on Broadband Trends for Cyber Criminal Use

WHAT: Broadband is fast-becoming omnipresent. While many people use the Internet for many aspects of their lives, far fewer truly understand it better than the ‘bad guys.’ Eric Olson, Vice President of Solutions Assurance for Cyveillance will speak about “The Implications of Ubiquitous Broadband for Cyber Crime” at the CeBIT 2010 AusInnovate Conference. In addition to addressing how social engineering and malware are becoming far more sophisticated and targeted, Olson will explore specific challenges as they pertain to the Australian National Broadband Network.
WHO: Eric Olson, Vice President of Solutions Assurance is responsible for Cyveillance's global service operations and customer care. He joined Cyveillance in 1999 and has held a variety of management roles within the company. Most recently he served as director of client services and senior operations analyst. For the last four years, his focal areas have been phishing, malware, and specific online crimes including sale of counterfeit drugs, ID theft, human trafficking and child exploitation. Prior to joining Cyveillance, Olson spent two years as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) (now IBM Business Consulting Services), where his responsibilities included process design, Internet technology, financial reporting and financial performance. Prior to PWC, he worked for a variety of organizations in the travel and hospitality industry, and worked in central Russia as an analyst for an international venture capital fund.
