Cyveillance's Cyber Intelligence Director to Deliver Keynote Address at Montana State University Security Conference

Terry Gudaitis to Discuss the Role of Social Engineering in Cyber Security

WHAT: Terry Gudaitis, PhD, Cyber Intelligence Director, will deliver the keynote address at Montana State University’s 2008 Security Conference. Dr. Gudaitis’ presentation entitled, "Beyond Network and Apps: Pen Testing Wetware," will discuss the definition of Wetware and Social Engineering and how each fit into the methodology of penetration testing. Historically, social engineering has been seen as “a con game” to trap people into divulging personal data. Dr. Gudaitis will explain the psychology behind social engineering and outline how cyber criminals are using it to exploit individuals into releasing confidential information.
WHO: Dr. Gudaitis is a nationally-recognized authority on cyber security, cyber crime profiling and psychology. She has provided consultation and leadership in cyber crime to public and private industry including SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation) and NSEC (Network Security Corp.), federal intelligence agencies and bureaus, and law enforcement, focusing on domestic and international security issues. Dr. Gudaitis has served on the United States Secret Service Advisory Board for Insider Threat and trained investigators at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
