Associate Technical Analyst

Position Summary:
Cyveillance has immediate openings for a motivated Associate Technical Analyst to join our world-class Cyber Intelligence organization within our Cyber Intelligence Division Security Operations Center (SOC). The Associate Technical Analyst is responsible for providing high quality support to the end users of our services. This position is night shift and/or weekends only. The analyst must be able to assist clients with troubleshooting, analyzing Internet content and sources and advising on suitable courses of action based on the nature of the information provided. The analyst must be able to follow standard practices and procedures and answer client questions in a clear and concise manner. The analyst must also be able to recognize situations that must be escalated to management. Some tasks will require completion of outbound calls to either clients or other service providers. The position requires tracking issues through to resolution.

Principal Job Functions:

  • Research and understand current phishing methodologies and techniques including web kit deployment, spam and malware distribution and associated activities related to identity theft, social engineering and online scams.
  • Process reports of phishing attacks against Cyveillance customers. Processing includes contacting providers of malicious accounts and pursuing their removal from the Internet.
  • Track the process of unresolved cases to ensure their successful completion or escalate to the appropriate individuals or organizations based on established guidelines and procedures.
  • Use your excellent communication skills to tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, foster the development of relationships with providers while succeeding in the removal of malicious account from their networks.
  • Availability to work 6-12 hour shifts, 12 to 30 hours per week, as part of a 24/7 operations team.
  • Identify and communicate improvements to case processing, client deliverables and departmental productivity.
  • Accept projects that may include researching specific topics or areas of interest relevant to customer needs or in support of analyst/senior analyst tasks.
  • Learn and employ Cyveillance patented technology to identify and collect relevant intelligence to aid the effort of removing threats from the Internet.

  • Ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills with close attention to detail, strong critical thinking/logic skills, and be solution-oriented with the ability to learn/adapt quickly. Effective written & verbal communication skills are required.
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree or higher. Relevant experience desired but not required. Languages abilities highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Internet applications; Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari, POP3 and IMAP. Familiarity with Mac OS X, Windows XP, UNIX/Linux, MS Office, Entourage.
  • Aptitude for technology and knowledge of Internet concepts: HTML, PHP, Javascript, SMTP, FTP and web site design or hosting. Knowledge of IM chat language, SMTP, HTTP, SSL, IRC, Blogs, RSS, social networking sites and other Web-based discussion mediums are desirable, but not required.
  • Previous experience in law enforcement, paralegal work, technical investigations, financial fraud operations or network administration is highly desired.
